Q: What is Slide Sledge?
A:Slide Sledge® is the most precise impact delivery system in the world. Inside the Slide Sledge®, a chamber of steel contains a solid steel drive bar. The drive bar travels along the steel cylinder in a linear motion. The force of the tool travels precisely and smoothly through the impact delivery system to the tip of the tool. The Slide Sledge® delivers the maximum targeted blow – accurately and powerfully every time, significantly reducing effort and risk. A wide variety of attachments and tips can be added to the tool to complete a full range of tasks.
Q: What is the difference between the Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer® and the Slide Sledge® Heavy Equipment™ tools?
A: The Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer® is designed for automotive frame repair. The tools and tips are engineered to complete automotive frame repairs faster and easier than existing tools.
The Slide Sledge® Heavy Equipment™ is specially designed for heavy equipment maintenance. The tool contains advanced metallurgy and is induction hardened to 45HRC. The Heavy Equipment™ tools and tips are designed to withstand much higher impact than the Frame Hammer® tools and tips.
Q: Are Frame Hammer® and Heavy Equipment™ tips interchangeable?
A: No. It is easy to tell the difference in the tip programs (Frame Hammer® tools and accessories are red, Heavy Equipment™ tools and accessories are yellow). Tips, like the tools above, have been designed and engineered for their specific application. The higher impact generated by the Heavy Equipment™ line can damage Frame Hammer® tips.
Q: Will my hydraulic ram (Porta-Power®) tips fit on the Slide Sledge®?
A: While 10-ton Porta-Power® tips will attach to the Slide Sledge® Heavy Equipment™ and the Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer®, this is NOT recommended. Use of specially designed Slide Sledge® tips is recommended due to the high impact force generated by the Slide Sledge® range of tools.
Q: How much force does the tool generate?
A: The Slide Sledge® can generate more impact force than a sledge hammer of similar weight because the force is linear and accurate. The Slide Sledge® tools offer greater precision, extended reach, safer operation, and application specific tips to get the job done faster and easier than the age-old hammer and chisel.

Q: How do I keep my tool in optimal working condition?
A: (1) Keep your tool and accessories clean (2) Occasionally lubricate the moving parts with common lubricating oil.
Q: Is the Slide Sledge® serviceable?
A: Yes, the Slide Sledge® can be disassembled to replace worn or damaged components. Please contact customer service for specific instruction or assistance (866) 862-2508.
Q: Will Slide Sledge® continue to make new tools and accessories?
A: Yes! Slide Sledge® is committed to providing constant innovation, improvement and product line expansion of its unique impact delivery system.
Q: What if I have an unusual application, will Slide Sledge® make a tip for me?
A: Slide Sledge® is always interested in meeting the needs of the industries and markets we serve. If you have a need for a special tip design, please contact Slide Sledge® for an evaluation.
Q: Can I use the Slide Sledge® tools as a pry bar?
A: No. Misuse of the tool will increase safety concerns and it will violate the warranty.
