HOFFMAN ESTATES, Illinois – (September 8, 2004) – The new Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer® from Slide Sledge, LLC provides high-impact force with pinpoint accuracy for faster, safer auto body repairs. The Frame Hammer® tool and its specialized, easy-switch tips can perform virtually any auto body repair job, eliminating the need for a hammer and chisel.
Inside the Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer®, a chamber of steel contains a fatigue-proof drive bar. The drive bar slides inside its cylinder with a linear, contained motion for precise, maximum impact, delivering up to 13 pounds of sledgehammer force. An optional 5-pound handle weight provides up to 18 pounds of sledgehammer power. Additionally, optional 10-inch and 19-inch extensions reach across frames to previously inaccessible areas.
New Frame Hammer® design improvements, available in September 2004, include a reengineered quick-change mechanism for tip attachment, featuring an exclusive “D-Head” design, and an innovative slide lock feature. The quick-change mechanism holds tips securely in place and allows for fast tool changes. The quick-change mechanism features a unique “D-Head” design, which prevents special Frame Hammer‚ tips from rotating on the tool and provides maximum power transfer. The slide lock keeps the drive bar in place when the tool is not in use and stops the drive bar from sliding out of the steel chamber. The Frame Hammer® design ensures accurate, reliable performance over the long life of the tool.
The Frame Hammer® tool can be used with a variety of application-specific tips for a wide range of auto body repairs, including:
• Curved tip to easily adjust weld-on and bolt-on hinges
• Punch tip to hit tight spots and reach inside access ports on the frame
• Curved Chisel tip to cut off rusted bolts and rivets
• Hook tip to grab hold of conventional frame rails
• Sheet Metal Spoon tip to slip precisely between thin surfaces
• Shovel tip to quickly create body lines
• Big Foot tip to step into areas not accessible with a straight shot
• Dome Head tip to provide a wide punch in a tight spot
• Tie rod and ball joint separator forks, available in four sizes, to quickly separate ball joints and tie rod ends
• Baseplate tip to massage out large areas of metal
• Serrated tip to work heavy steel back in position
• Plunger tip to reach around obstructions
• Wedge tip to deliver concentrated impact in tight areas
