Thank you for your purchase! You’ll find that the all new Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer® delivers high-impact force with pinpoint accuracy for faster, safer auto body repairs. Please read the following important instructions and safety information before using your Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer®.
Operating Instructions
Choose the proper tip for your application and attach it to the impact end. Please note that certain tips contain a “D” shaped insertion hole. The “D” shape of the tip must be aligned with the “D” shape of the tool before insertion.
To release the drive bar, pull on the slide lock pin until it releases from the drive bar groove (Figure A) and pull the drive bar back. The slide lock will not re-engage while the tip of the tool is held against the desired impact point. To re-engage the slide lock mechanism, push the drive bar into the steel tube until the slide lock pin reinserts itself into the drive bar groove. Please note that the slide lock position pin must be aligned with the groove cut in the slide lock nut to allow for drive bar locking (Figure B). For increased safety, always lock the drive bar when the product is not in use.
After releasing the slide lock mechanism, place the tip at the desired impact point and draw the drive bar back. Always make sure the tip is held firmly against the desired impact point. Slide the bar forward, forcing it toward the point of impact. Increase or decrease the impact force by adjusting the speed and momentum of the drive bar. The optional Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer® 5 lb. handle weight may be threaded onto the end of the bar to increase the impact force.

Safety Information
• Do not use the Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer® without first attaching a tip and make sure the tip is fully seated on the tool before use. Using the tool without a tip will damage the tool and void your warranty.
• Make sure that the tip is held firmly against the impact surface (for example, the frame of a vehicle) before sliding the drive bar forward and impacting the tool’s plunger and tip. Impacting the plunger and tip when not against a solid surface may cause the tip to separate from the tool at a high rate of speed.
• Do not use the Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer® as a pry bar. Using the tool as a pry bar will damage the tool and void your warranty.
• Do not use the Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer® on live electrical circuits.
• Do not strike the Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer® with another striking tool.
• To avoid possible injury from flying objects, safety goggles or equivalent eye protection conforming to ANSI Z87.1 should be worn by the user and by all persons in the immediate area in which any striking tool is being used.
• Tips should be inspected prior to each use and discontinued/replaced at the first sign of chipping, mushrooming, or cracking of any portion.
• No area, section, or portion of the Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer® hammerhead should be ground, welded, treated by reheating, or otherwise altered from the original condition as furnished by Slide Sledge, LLC.
• To avoid possible eye or other bodily injury, tips should not be used to strike hard or hardened objects such as rocks, concrete, hatchets, hammers, axes, splitting wedges, mauls, and other striking tools.
• Blows should always be struck squarely with the striking face parallel to the surface being struck. Glancing blows, overstrikes, and under strikes should be avoided.
• Occasionally lubricate the Slide Sledge® Frame Hammer® slide bar using common lubricating oil for longer life and smoother operation.
